MOM recommends supervisors for teams of three or more, making the current deployment inefficient. To address this, we proposed replacing the SS with a Senior Security Officer (SSO), whose qualifications meet the regulatory requirements for CCTV monitoring. The revised deployment of 1 SSO and 1 SO per shift aligns with both MOM and Police Licensing & Regulatory Department (PLRD) standards. Additionally, we introduced a License Plate Recognition (LPR) system and Visitor Management System (VMS), enabling residents to pre-register guests. These enhancements improve access control, streamline entry at the main gantry, and ensure a cost-effective, efficient security operation.

Problems

The MCST was under the impression that only Security Supervisors (SS) can operate CCTV monitoring system, hence incurred high cost for a team size of two per shift which is inefficient.

Solutions

What We Achieved

Introduce technology to streamline entry with and improved access control. Successfully reduced security costs by $1,200 per month, yielded savings of $28,800 in 2 years.
